Napoleon Spring 1999
“I wanted to create a collection that was falling to pieces by its appearance, but had very elaborate anachronistic embellishments. The colorway was the road to the absurd for me. This dyed toothpaste and creamsicle, crossed with frayed denim and distressed cotton. All of this came together and helped me to make a soft and wearable and almost spectral collection of clothing. The humor in collection comes from the almost haphazard destruction of the clothes and then the overplay of that with the tireless research in the screen printed ornamental work. The patterns were worked to within an inch of their lives. I can say with confidence, that my fit is perfect.
