Projects and Objects
I love to start out a project with biggest idea possibly , then work backward to what is actually do-able. The projects below are all experiments in aesthetics and motives, and of course my favorite, unspoken humor.

Working with founder Justin Jorgensen to develop guest interaction sites, organize fashion directives, sponsorship opportunities and parties. Listening in and massaging the crowd's emotive temperature is one of my favorite things. A tender mercy for a troubled world.

Lydia Hearst photographed by ALbert Sanchez abd Pedro Zalba. Art deco hematite earrings with volcanic glass and baroque pearls. Jewelry by Jared for Tarina.
Designing costume jewelry is like making toys that have no limits. Creating at Tarina Tarantino allowed Jared to re-engage with the need for a high speed outlet of rapid-fire designs. Endless sketchbooks filled with concepts, miniature drawings and landscapes turned into a full-out sparkle melé. The backbone of the company's business is Swarovski crystal...so we pavé'd for days. The cosmetics line featured at Sephora constantly required new concepts. Catalog includes concept art, photographs, video, packaging and research, toys, costumes, candy, store interiors, pop-up retail, and endless...endless...BLAM.

The Misfit Toys
A band of classically trained musicians playing on toy instruments. Horrible Heidi and Her Friends
A Team of super mascots that chase people on roller skates through obstacle courses for prizes. One of my favorite things I have ever made. I wanted to make some costumes that could be used for real roughousing. Mostly padding and foam, they could take a pretty serious hit. Yes they were poorly made, yes they mauled and mamed, but they never stayed down. Get up and Fight! At one event we only had one pair of rollerskates for all of the contestants to wear so a friend proceeded to just duct tape the wheels to the contestants shoes...real good. Pandamonium was instant and awestrikiing. The Hiedies would just rush the room and start smashing into everything. It was total technicolor mayhem with Black Metal playing. A commentator would actually attempt to deliver a blow by blow report to the crowds. The Hiedis all have names: Shirley, Maureen, The Pink Menace, Sandy, and everything was just hot glued.
